Gel mats rely on a gel pack that can puncture and leak, and typically needs 15–20 minutes to "recharge" after a few hours of use. This mat has no gel or water at all — the ice-silk fabric itself stays cool to the touch, so there's nothing to leak, refill, or wait to recharge.
