Gel mats rely on a gel pack that can puncture and leak, and typically needs 15–20 minutes to recharge after a few hours. This has no gel or water at all — the fabric itself is what feels cool.
Does it work for cats too?
Yes — it's sized for cats and small-to-medium dogs. For larger dogs, two side by side works well.
Will my dog's nails damage it?
There's no internal pouch to puncture, so it's more forgiving than a gel mat, but sharp claws or digging will wear any fabric over time. It's made for lying on, not scratching.
Does it need sunlight or water to work?
No. Unlike some phase-change fabrics it needs no sunlight exposure or water activation — it's cool to the touch straight away.
